About Yana

YANA GERMAN, CECP

Yana German is a body language expert, transformation coach, and intuitive. For eighteen years, she has been guiding individuals through positive transformation by helping them to amend old patterns, behaviors, habits and thinking. Her focus is to analyze physical movements, such as the way a person walks, so that she can she assess energy, current state of connectedness and balance.

Having studied momentum and movement as a ballroom dancer for many years, Yana knows the correlation between how a person moves (walk, stand) to how they truly feel inside. By tuning into each specific movement, she can observe what is functioning within the dysfunction of a person, pinpoint their inner feelings and see if they are connected with themselves and what their true potential is.

Her goal is to unveil each person’s mind-body connection and how a new awareness can strengthen them physically, emotionally and mentally.

The Method

Yana's organic approach to personal development and working with Mind, Body, and Soul has warranted a variety of clients from teenagers, to women and men of all ages. She offers workshops, and group intensive programs. Yana also continues to bring awareness of the importance of body language and non-verbal communication to the public through speaking engagements, article features, and numerous television appearances.

Many of her media appearances focus on the topic of bullying and how body awareness can help children improve how they feel about themselves. As someone who was bullied herself as a child, it’s important for Yana to spread this message and to provide hands on tools that parents can use with their children to improve their confidence.

A history in fashion,
a future in transforming lives

A former fashion designer and model runway coach, Yana moved to Chicago in 1989 to participate in the Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) program under former Mayor Daley’s fashion initiative, and she won. Soon after she launched her own clothing line, Yana Collection, which was featured at Macy’s stores nationwide. But what seemed to interest Yana most about fashion, was not so much about designing, but what each piece physically worn on a person revealed about them.

The Yana Difference

She coined the term “the Yana difference” while working for modeling agencies such as John Casablanca’s, Barbizon and John Robert Powers where she would coach models on their runway presentation and offer guidance on how to mentally make their walk better. It wasn’t so much on the outside that she was tapping into…it was what was going on in the inside.

The power of the walk

In 2010 Yana sold her label and opened up the School of Walk modeling school focusing on “how to walk.” She worked with students on their body movements, as well as trying to fix their walk and posture in order to connect to their inner power. Yana began working with children who were bullied and lacked self-confidence, because she too, experienced it as a little girl.

School of Walk provided classes to teach individuals how to walk with confidence and feel comfortable in their own skin. Part theoretical, part physical -the program integrated plyometric exercises with elements from dance, leading students through choreography specifically designed to improve posture, balance, core strength, and overall body alignment.

The unique method of transformation that Yana guides her students through today has its roots in her diverse path through fashion, modeling, and the analysis of physical movement.
